You will need some additional items to make this a complete milking machine.  These include a vacuum supply,  a surcingle strap to hang the bucket on, a swiss pail brush, and Pfanzite dairy detergent.  All these items are available in our ebay store.

The Surge Milker is an excellent choice for family cows or to take to livestock shows. 

Occasionally the teat cups (liners, inflations) come off the teats or the cow jumps or for some reason they come off. On an ordinary milking machine they land on the floor and time must be taken to wash them before milking can proceed. On the Surge, they simply swing down against the pail, shutting off the vacuum.  The teat cups are up away from the floor and out of the dirt. On the usual type of bucket milking machine if the cups fall to the floor with the pump running they suck up filth and spoil the milk in the pail .  On the Surge it never happens at all because the Surge cup automatically shuts off the instant it drops from the teat.    - paraphrased and adapted from a 1924 sales book on the Surge Milker.  The benefits of clean milk are still as valid today as they were in 1924.
